Sundays 5-7pm with Davy Sims
Around The World is a weekly two-hour exploration of global music, curated and presented by Davy Sims.
Each edition travels across continents and traditions, introducing listeners to music that rarely finds space on mainstream radio but carries deep cultural roots and contemporary energy. The programme brings together new releases and rediscoveries from across the international music landscape.
Selections range widely — from South American cumbia and West African griot traditions to Irish and Scottish folk reframed for modern audiences, alongside Arabic electronica, Portuguese fado, Balkan brass, Bosnian sevdah, Japanese minyo, Korean pansori, and desert blues. The aim is not novelty, but context: placing each sound within a wider musical conversation.
Guided in part by developments reflected in the World Music Charts Europe and the Transglobal World Music Chart, the show highlights significant new work from artists shaping today’s global scene.
Around The World is built on careful listening and thoughtful curation — a space where borders fade and music is allowed to speak in its own voice.
